TOUR OVERVIEW

PRIVATE TOUR 1 – 4 DAYS

PRIVATE TOUR 3 DAY 2 NIGHT

Over the three days you will trek to and overnight in a rarely visited Lahu village high in the hills in the Chiang Dao area.

On the following day you will trek through some pristine jungle overnight in a Shan village. On the final day after trekking out of the jungle we will spend the rest of the day biking through rural villages, farms and rice paddies in the Ping River Valley

Day 1

Pick up from Chiang Mai hotel then drive to north of Chiang Mai for our trek starting point.

On route we will stop at a local market for the guide to stock up on supplies for the trek. We will begin the trek in the foothills of Chiang Dao mountain and make our way up to a remote Lahu village nestled high up in the mountains. On arrival in the village you will be able to explore the village or kick back, relax and enjoy the views over the mountains and jungle. You will overnight in the village in a real Lahu village house, be prepared for very basic conditions as you will be sleeping as the locals do. The guide will prepare the evening meal for you

Day 2

Breakfast will be taken in the village before proceeding with our full day’s trek. The trek will follow narrow trails frequently trodden by the local ethnic hill tribes in the area, the jungle is thick and pristine here. On route we will stop for lunch by a local waterfall which is a great spot to freshen up in the cool waters, Our final destination of the day will be the Shan village at Mae Mae where you will spend the second night. The night will be spent in relative comfort in the Tree House Village, this timber and bamboo construction clings to the hillside high above the valley below and affords great views over the forested valley below, a truly stunning spot to spend the night! Dinner will be prepared for you by the local Shan villages

Day 3

Breakfast at the Tree house Village and then the guide will escort you to MaeMae village school to see where and how the local hill tribe kiddies get educated. Most of the children board (sleep) at the school as their home villages are too far to make the journey to and from the school everyday! Following our school visit we continue the trek for around two hours to our pick up point where we will board the vehicle and make the short drive to the cycle starting point. After lunch we will bike the flat river valley plain amongst the rice paddies and and tracks which follow irrigation channels, some of the route will be on unpaved tracks and some on paved roads. Our final destination of the day will be the imposing Ban Den Temple, before making the 1 hour drive back to Chiang Mai and transfer to your hotel

Fitness: This trip will involve 3 days hiking in hilly terrain as well as a biking in a hot tropical climate. A good level of health and fitness will be required.

 

PRIVATE TOUR 

Experience hill tribe trekking, biking and kayaking on this extended 4 day 3 night trip. Over the 4 days you will visit a diverse range of environments using 3 very different modes of transport!

Day 1

Following lunch you will start your paddle, paddling time will be around 1.5 hours to you accommodation for the night, floating house boats deep in the National Park. Spend the late afternoon swimming in the lake, exploring by kayak or taking a well earned rest. Dinner will be taken on the house boats by the waters edge.

Day 4

After 3 days of of trekking, biking and Kayaking it will be time to take a well earned rest we will take a leisurely breakfast then you will be free to relax and spend the morning on the house boats. The lake is great for swimming or you can kick back and relax by the waters edge. Late morning we will jump back in the kayaks and paddle back to the National Park office and the lunch venue overlooking the lake. After lunch we will depart back to Chiang Mai taking in the imposing Banden temple on the route back.

Day 1

You will get pick up from your place at 8.00 a.m. and drive about 1 hr. to stop at the local market for collecting your supplies for the trek and continuing drive to visit the beautiful unseen Ban Den temple. After that, we will head to the drop off point in Chiang Dao. We will start trekking to the waterfall, cool down a bit and take a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we will keep walking to our last destination of the day, the Jungle House village in Mae Mae, Shan village, where you will have dinner and spend the night there like a local people.

Dinner will be prepared by the local Shan villagers.

Day 2   

After breakfast at the Jungle House village, we will visit the Mae Mae village school. Here is the boarding school that teaches ethnic children in this area.  After visiting the school, we will start trekking from the village by following the stream about 2 hours to the pickup point and have lunch. After lunch, get ready to continue our journey cycling on flat route along the Mae Ping river bank down south to Chiang Mai city, the scenic trip through lots of valleys, farming areas, fruit orchards and see different lifestyles of people who live by riverside and agricultural farmlands. Enjoy the beautiful sceneries of paddy fields, stop is made to pick up detail and local knowledge about how the oriental growing rice. After finish biking, we will drive you back to Chiang Mai about an hour and transfer your place safely.

Fitness: This trip will involve 2 days hiking in hilly terrain as well as a biking in a hot tropical climate. A good level of health and fitness will be required.

Spend two days biking and kayaking in the area north of Chiang Mai. You will spend a half day biking in the peaceful Mae Ping River valley through small villages and then paddle your way into Sri Lanna National Park where you will spend a unique night well away from modern life on floating house boats.

Day 1 – We will depart Chiang Mai and make the drive north towards the Mae Tang area this will be the starting point of our cycle ride. We will head off by bike onto the fertile Ping River plain amongst rice paddies, fruit orchards and small rural villages. We will continue onwards towards Sri Lanna National Park. We will take lunch in Sri Lanna National Park and then board the waiting kayaks to paddle our way deep into the National Park and our night time accommodation, floating house boats on the lake. for the remainder of the late afternoon you will be free to enjoy the cool waters of the lake, swim Kayak or just chill by the waters edge. Dinner will be taken on the house boats.

Day 2 – We will take breakfast on the house boats and you will be free for the morning to enjoy the lake. Jump in a kayak or take an early morning refreshing swim! After Lunch we will depart by kayak at around 11:30am and paddle our way back to the National Park headquarters. On arrival we will have lunch. After lunch we will stop at the stunning Ban Den Temple. before transferring you back to Chiang Mai and your hotel.

ONE DAY TREK - Hill Tribe Village

One day trekking only! If you want to see a Lahu hill tribe village which retains much of its traditional culture and is rarely visited by foreigners then this is the trek for you. You will trek through some stunning pristine Jungle to this Lahu Village nestled high in the mountains. A Shan village, waterfall and hill tribe village school visit also feature in this one-day trek from Chiang Mai.

DAY 1

Early start! We will drive out of the city towards Chiang Dao before turning off the main high way to our jumping off point for the days trek.

The trek will start in a Shan Village where we will pay a visit to the local village school.  The school teachers mostly hill tribe kiddies from the villages in the area.  We will commence our trek out of the village into the jungle on route we will stop for a refreshing break and lunch by a waterfall.

Our final destination of the day will be a Lahu village situated high up in the mountains this village sees very few foreign tourists and is rarely visited by trekkers.
