The laid back pace of the island allows guests the opportunity to see the local way of life in an unobtrusive way. The local communities in this area typically work in coastal fisheries, have fish farms and grow rice

Participate in an activity based program in the Muslim village of Koh Yao Noi. You will enjoy handicraft demonstrations, tasting authentic Southern Thai food in the pleasant atmosphere with your hosts. Have the opportunity to explore the local nature from a long tail boat with your guide. You may even see water buffaloes taking mud baths in the local rice patties!

Day 1 – Cultural Exchange

  • Meet your translator at Bang Rong, Phuket
  • Hop on a long tail boat to travel to Koh Yao
  • After arriving at Koh Yao get briefed about the village and the village’s code of conduct
  • Check in homestay and have lunch with your homestay family
  • In the afternoon go sightseeing around the island while visiting a handicraft demonstration, a batik group and learn how to make a delicious Thai dessert
  • Visit a rubber plantation and rush rice paddy fields
  • Refresh yourself with a fresh coconut from your hosts’ garden
  • Visit the local evening market for the famous Thai tea and some local snacks
  • Return home for dinner with your hosts

Day 2 – Natural Wonders

  • Have breakfast at the local morning market or at the homestay
  • Hop on a long tail boat to visit a marine lobster farm and continue to meet local fisherman to

  • Travel to the Hong Islands for Snorkeling and enjoy the colourful marine life
  • Have a picnic on the islands for lunch
  • Return to your homestay and spend the afternoon at your own pace exploring the village
  • In the afternoon return to your homestay and say goodbye to your friendly hosts
  • Return to Bang Rong Pier and end of program.
