DSCF2359 copyHello everyone! My name is Munirah and I am currently doing my internship at Andaman Discoveries for four months. I am an undergraduate student from University of Brunei Darussalam, majoring in Professional Communication and the Media. The last time I came to Thailand was when I was 8, if I am not mistaken, and to actually come here again is indeed an exciting opportunity. I honestly never knew or heard about Andaman Discoveries before. But when I had a look at their website, the beautiful nature and the conservation of natural resources really caught my attention right at first glance. I am a nature lover at heart and being surrounded in the luscious green and clear blue sea of Southern Thailand is a place I would like to be.DSCF2359

My role as the social media promoter at Andaman Discoveries is to assist in improving their social media approach to attract more visitors, track the online marketing to review our progress easily and also help with any project-related event that will need my assistance. Being in a media background, photography is one of the areas that I am most interested in. I am passionate about photography that being in the Southern Thailand is an opportunity for me to take pictures not just for memories but also to portray beautiful Thailand in a different perspective, ranging from their exquisite nature, to their people and traditional customs.

It has been a week of my internship and I can honestly say that everyone in Andaman Discoveries welcomed me with open arms and made myself feel comfortable working here. They taught me a little bit about Thai language and even gave me a Thai phrasebook for my reference for the four months to come. I got the chance to visit the Tung Rak Mangrove Forest and witnessed its majestic picturesque view of nature. I have never seen great mountains that beautiful in real life. My feeling at that time was indescribable. We observed crabs, fishes and others that I could not name and experienced fresh air within the Mangrove Forest. The jellyfish pulley though was the one thing I find really interesting as it is rather unique and ancient in its own traditional way.

I am always excited and ready for an adventure. Trying out new things and exploring the beauties in Thailand are things I would like to enjoy during my stay here in Kuraburi. I am certainly looking forward for every tomorrow and all the great experiences that are just waiting for me to grab and take all the memories when I go back to Brunei.
