MOKLAN ECO TOUR: ONE DAY

Day 1 – Cultural Exchange

Morning     

Start the tour in Kuraburi at the Andaman Discoveries office for a pre-trip briefing and cultural orientation.Transfer to Tung La Ong Pier to meet your local hosts and then take a boat to the remote island of Koh Phra Thong. Along the way explore the mangrove forest in a long-tail boat, where you have the chance to spot playful otters and shy monkeys. Take a fascinating journey through the tidal canals and learn about this amazing eco-system which also acts as a nursery for crabs, fish and shrimp.
Meet your village guide and homestay family, who will welcome you into their way of life

Take a local transportation tractor ride to the village then learn how to make squid traps with local fisherman.

Noon

Enjoy a delicious lunch with your homestay family. Join the local woman to make a traditional Moklan dessert from local “khanom jak” flour and coconut. Roast it over coals and enjoy this tasty treat together

Transfer back to your hotel in Kuraburi, end of program.

Then, relax on the beach and enjoy a beautiful sunset or help prepare the evening meal of the freshest sea food and Thai specialties

Evening     

Savour a tasty traditional Southern Thai dinner. Weave palm fronds into animal shapes – keep your creations as a souvenir. With the help of your translator, spend the evening engaging in cross cultural exchange with your homestay family

Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay. Bedding and mosquito net is provided

Day 2 – Natural Wonder

Morning     

Have a peaceful breakfast with your homestay family.Head out with your local guide to the savannah field from the back of a homemade tractor. Try to catch a glimpse of wildlife, such as deer and birds, or find a honeycomb up in the trees

Noon         

Enjoy another homemade lunch with your homestay family. Meet your local guide and explore the mangrove ecosystem to catch crabs, fish or gather shells depending on the tidal
Evening     

Learn to cook Thai food with your host family or take a walk to the beach and enjoy another colorful sunset

Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay. Bedding and mosquito net is provided

Day 3 Village Life

Morning          

Have a peaceful breakfast with your homestay family

Join the local woman to make a traditional Moklan dessert from local “khanom jak” flour and coconut. Roast it over coals and enjoy this tasty treat together

Noon               

During lunch with your homestay family, share what you liked about the program with them, then transfer to Kuraburi end of prgram.

Transfer back to Kuraburi Arrive to the Andaman Discoveries office for debriefing, then end of program.
