Andaman Discoveries strives to stay and evolve as a sustainable tour operator. One way of doing this is by looking at certifications that holds us to a high standard. We are currently a partner of Travelife and just submitted our Travelife certification application. The next step will be to have an audit in the office to ensure that we are following all the criteria and also have an action plan set in place to continuously improve our standards. It has been an informative process and allows for positive growth within our company. Travelife also conducts training certifications for staff that go over criterion on how to manage sustainability within our company and also with our supply chain. We are happy to say that Pi Nat and Lindsey are now Travelife Certified and will be sharing their knowledge with other staff members and community partners.
Another fun training that took place over the last few months was the Greenfins Assessor training. AD staff member Lindsey, participated in the 7 day training that brought together knowledgeable and passionate advocates for marine conservation in relation to diving and snorkeling tourism along the Andaman Coast. After receiving her Green Fins certification, Lindsey will now be able to assess and certify local dive and snorkeling companies and give them presentations on best practices.
