Lexis: No new lexis will be introduced. Some may come up during farang interaction. Purely a speaking, recap, and confidence building session.
Language point(s):   Anticipated problems: Some Ss will perform abysmally.
Lack of sleep for teacher.
Juggling this with entertaining an interviewee who arrives at butt-crack o’clock in the morning.
Having farang in my class does my nut in.

  E Introductions, warm-up Greets Ss. Asks them some engaging questions. Concludes with questions about village descriptions Responds, feels at ease before the onslaught none 10 min  
  E Monologues Asks Ss to find their in-class activity from yesterday (PT1: Monologue). Finds it. PT1: mono-logue 1 min  
  S Monologues Picks a Ss to sit opposite the teacher. Teacher reads monologue using “Hamburi” as his village. Have Ss volunteer read his or her description back. Responds PT1: Mono-logue 5 min  
  S Monologues Have Ss read monologues to each other in pairs. Monitor and correct for grammar. Fields questions that arise. takes turns reading monologue to partner PT1 15 min  
  S/A Monologues Mingle: Have Ss walk around the classroom reading their monologues to each other. Monitor, participate, correct errors. Reads monologues to each other and teacher. PT1 15 min  
  S/A Monologues Each Ss reads his or her monologue to the class. Teacher corrects only for egregious errors at this point. Reads monologue. PT1 15 min  
  A Monologues By now they can hopefully recite this damn thing in their sleep! Group them according to village. Introduce the farang: Paul, Olivia, and possibly Dino (interviewee), and other farang join in and listen to Ss recite their monologues. From there farang are free to engage the Ss in conversation. Reads monologue to farang, talks freely PT1 20 min
