PRIVATE TOUR 2 DAY 1 NIGHT

Day 1 Cultural Exchange

Morning  

Transfer pick up at your hotel in Khao Lak area and meet you Andaman Discoveries translator for a pre-trip  briefing and cultural orientation. Then heading to Ban SamChong village to meet your host family, and be welcomed into their way of life.

Take a walking tour of the community with your local guide to learn about the history and lives of these villagers

Noon

Lunch – enjoy authentic southern Thai food with your homestay family

Meet the women’s group who makes beautiful tie-dye creations using natural colour from the surrounding forests.  Have an opportunity to learn their techniques and create your own piece to keep as a souvenir.

Learn the local occupation of pealing leaves of the nypa palm with the villagers.  They use the pealed leaves to make tobacco rolling papers to sell at the local market.

Take a guided kayak tour of the mangrove conservation area and learn about this eco-system and its importance to the village, have a chance to plant mangrove saplings to help the village with their conservation efforts. In the quiet of the trees you have a chance to see monkeys, monitor lizards and many species of birds. Then, Visit the local fish farm or oyster farm.
Evening

Have a personalised Thai cooking class with your homestay host and learnSouthern Thai specialties and enjoy the meal together

In the evening participate  in a cultural activity where you can share stories and experiences with the family  and local villagers. Pictures from home are always appreciated! Then try on their  traditional clothing to learn more about their Muslim culture
Overnight: Ban Sam Chong Homestay, comfortable bedding and mosquito net provided

Day 2 Natural Wonder

Morning        

Wake up early and head out on a long tail boat for a spectacular Andaman Coast sunrise. Enjoy coffee tea and breakfast from the boat as you watch the red and orange hues of the sun rise over the limestone Karst mountain and ocean!

Continue your journey to Phang Nga bay to the famous island and Panyee village (fisherman village), you will see the dramatic limestone islands, explore sea caves and relax with the breathtaking views.

Noon          

Return to your homestay for another delicious lunch.
Pack and say goodbye to your friendly hosts transfer back to Khaolak.  End of program.

Day 1 Natural Wonder

Enjoy an authentic southern Thai seafood in local restaurant with fresh seafood. Head into nature, and explore the mangrove forest in a long-tail boat, where you have the chance to spot various birds, monitor lizards and monkeys. Take a fascinating journey through the tidal canals and learn how the villagers are active in protecting this amazing ecosystem.

Continue your journey to the Phang Nga bay the famous island and Panyee village (fisherman village), you will see the dramatic limestone islands, explore sea caves and relax with the breathtaking views.
Return to the village get you natural tie dye back and transfer to Khaolak.

End of program 15.00 pm.

Phang Nga Bay with Sunset Cruise

Half Day Program

ITINERARY Phang Nga Bay Half Day - Sunset & Dinner
  • 12.00 pm pick you up from your hotel in Khao Lak in a comfortable car or minibus. From here we take a scenic drive into the Phang Nga Valley. (Late start to avoid crowds)
  • Arrive at the local cave temple where your guide will take you on a walk-through time and traditional Thai culture in the History of temple.
  • Head to a pier near the Ao Phang Nga National Park and take a long-tail boat out into Phang Nga Bay through the largest native mangrove forest in Thailand.
  • Cruise through the caves and beautiful limestone mountains that make up Phang Nga Bay.
  • Visit the famous James Bond Island where you can swim, enjoy the scenery and re-enact your favorite scenes from the movie.
  • Sightseeing tour around Koh Panyi, the famous stilted fishing village located in the heart of Phang Nga Bay.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner with a beautiful view of Phang Nga Bay.
  • Return to the pier as the sun sets over the bay and then head back to your Khao Lak hotel.
