Itinerary:
Day 1 – Homestay Cultural Exchange (L,D)
Meet your homestay family and take a walking tour of the village to learn the history and about the 2004 Tsunami
Learn the art of Batik- dyeing fabrics by using designs drawn in wax – keep it as a souvenir
Weave leaves of the Nypa palm with the villagers to make traditional rood panels
Enjoy a spectacular Andaman sunset while eating a delicious barbeque dinner on the beach.

Overnight at homestay
Day 2 – Natural Wonders (B.L,D)
Take a journey through the mangrove forest Journey to the *Gam Islands and enjoy the white sand bays, go for a swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters. Have a picnic lunch on the beach
Local fishing activity
Handicraft workshop with the women’s soap group – keep as a souvenir
Relax on the beach for another sunset or learn the essentials of Thai cooking
Try on traditional Muslim clothing
Overnight at homestay
* Gam Islands are available during dry season November – April. For rainy season, enjoy an extended mangrove tour
Day 3 – Village Life (B,L)
Walk to the school for a panoramic view of the village
Make a local Thai dessert
After lunch transfer to Kuraburi and walk the evening market with a translator
Overnight at Kuraburi local resort
Day 4 – Moken Village Visit (B,L,D)
Breakfast at the local market with your translator
Transfer to Surin Island by speedboat and check into your tent accommodation at the National
Park Head Quarters. Meet your local guide and take a long tail boat to the Moken village
Explore the village and learn the relationship between the Moken and their environment. Talk about the ‘’Spirit Poles’’ and Moken homes
Handicraft Workshop- Learn the traditional art of Moken weaving. Use forest Pandanus leaves to weave a natural bracelet. Keep it as a souvenir
Packed lunch in the Moken Village
Forest hike- Your guide will highlight useful plants, including medicinal herbs, edible species, and those used in construction of traditional houseboats and houses
Snorkeling- The Moken guide will take you to a wonderland of colorful tropical fish
Return to park headquarters to relax on the white sand beach
Overnight in tent accommodation at National Park Headquarters
Day 5 – Life of the Sea Gypsies (B,L,D)
Snorkeling with your Moken guide or return to the village to spend more time with your new friends
Return to the park headquarters, you may even see some flying lemurs and macaque monkeys

Day 6 – Mythology of the Moken (B,L)
In the Moken village, try your hand at rowing a Moken ‘’row-boat’’ and re-enacting their method of spear fishing
Spend more time in village or head out for one more snorkel exploration
After lunch, transfer to Andaman Discoveries office for debriefing, End of program.
**Moken Music- Listen to beautiful songs that tell stories and the history of the Moken people. Day of Moken music will be decided by guide
