PhangNga Bay

PhangNga Bay -Ban Sam Chong

PhangNga Bay

PahngNga bay the small fishing village of Ban Sam Chong is located on the shore of one of three mangrove canals. You can’t access the village by scooter or car, just by boat, allowing you to take in the quiet natural surrounding you. The fishing village houses are built on stilts and connected by long footbridges.

The mangrove canals and extensive ecosystem surrounding the village is the main source of livelihood for the local people. At low tide, villagers are able to harvest shells along the mangrove banks. They also lay fish traps that can be collected after one high tide cycle.  Villagers also net fish from the shoreline.

“The friendly fishing village of Sam Chong Nuea is an open minded, very friendly and the most beautiful place on earth.”
