We provide an authentic cultural experience for families in a safe and supportive environment. A translator will be with you throughout your time in village to ensure a worthwhile cultural exchange. Staying with a family is an ideal way to get to really know and appreciate the villagers' lives. You'll be welcomed as part of the family and Thai families love having overseas families to stay in their homes.
In our hectic Western lives, both adults and children seem to spend more time on the computer and have little appreciation for what we have in our lives. Spending time in a remote yet safe village offers a chance to spend quality time together and realize how other people live in a relaxed and friendly environment. Children can get to know each other as they play games and football on the beach (or in village) after a busy day.

Our trips offer many fun hands on activities that encourage experiential learning, cultural awareness and ultimately global citizenship. For example:
Cultural: One popular activity for both parents and kids is making traditional pancakes and Thai desserts. Cooking is a tasty way of learning about the life and diet of the villagers.
Environmental: The Andaman region is ecologically diverse with jungle trails and lush mangroves, perfect for exploring. Kids love being outside and our guides will ensure that they learn about the environment and be inspired to protect it. We offer mangrove reforestation for those who want to take an active part in the conservation of the region and get nice and muddy too!
Creativity: Participate in an interactive handicraft workshop to make natural soap or colorful Batik. Local children love to draw and make things. Bring some paper and pens for the children and let them do the rest.

Social: Staying in village with people who have a very different way of seeing and experiencing the world, encourages children to appreciate how other people live and how that in the West we have a tendency to take things for granted. Our staff will encourage kids to appreciate the similarities between them and the villages and not necessarily the differences.
Comfort zones: We all have a comfort zone, and being in village and doing activities may challenge these, even something as simple as eating rice soup for breakfast. Trips aren't difficult or challenging, by any means, yet providing a safe situation in which kids are confronted with "different" ways of doing things. Our trips help to develop critical thinking skills, self-esteem and be better equipped to deal with challenging or different situations in the future.
