If so, join our Leadership in Sustainability Certificate Program. The program facilitates effective leadership skills through five components:

1. Living Sustainably: Learning and working with extraordinary villagers creating a self-sufficient future.
2. Field Research: Researching and analyzing environmental conditions in the ridge to reef coastal ecosystems.
3. Outdoor Education: Navigating new places with confidence and a smile on your face
4. Community Planning: Planning and piloting community-based disaster management and climate change initiatives.
5. Participatory Project: Working side-by-side with communities to conserve and regenerate vulnerable habitats and threatened species.

Effective leadership comes from action born of knowledge. The program will involve you in both the theory and practice of Transformative Leadership, through an applied understanding of:

• Systems Thinking
• Group Organizing for Social Change
• Positive Psychology and the Art of Happiness

What to Expect

Comfort zones will certainly be tested and give students the opportunity to re-assess their acceptance levels. Frequently, the favorite part of many students' trips is overcoming personal challenges from getting muddy to trying new food. Andaman Discoveries offers pre-trip project work to prepare and engage students for their time in Thailand.
