Golden Buddha Beach Resort
We highly recommend staying with a host family in a homestay during your time in village. Staying with a family allows you to take a privileged look into their lives and really connect with the villagers. You will be made to feel like a member of the family, due to the warmth and hospitality of the villagers. This kind of genuine authenticity can not be replicated in a hotel or guesthouse, and is often the highlight of many peoples' trip.

However, there are a number of accommodation options available in the region to meet any budget, which Andaman Discoveries is happy to arrange. Some are listed below:

Boon Piya Resort

Mid budget 650 Baht (US$20, €30, £9)

Boon Piya Resort in Kuraburi

Located in the center of Kuraburi town, Boon Piya Resort is excellent value for money and convenience. Rooms are clean, well equipped with TV and towels, air conditioning and hot water. Some guests have mentioned that the beds are quite hard, but that might be better for you! The owner, Ger Hui, speaks great English and offers laundry service as well as motorbike and truck rental, all reasonably priced.

Greenview Resort

Mid- to high-budget 1,400 Baht and up (US$44, €30, £20)

This delightful resort is nestled in lush green surroundings 12 kilometers from Kuraburi town center. Complete with swimming pool, restaurant serving international and Thai cuisine, massage service and gift shop, Greenview Resort is the most expensive (and fanciest) place to stay in the area. Rooms and villas are air conditioned with novel waterfall-style hot showers. The staff is friendly and speaks fairly good English. Food is a little bit more expensive than other places and made for the Western palette. Make sure to tell them if you don't like your food spicy.

Tara Inn Bungalows

Low budget 450 Baht and up (US$15, €9, £7)

Tara Inn Bungalows along the Nangyon River

Tara Inn is located on the river, a five-minute walk from the bus station and the center of Kuraburi town. Rooms are comfortable and basic with towels and TV. Those on a tight budget can opt for the rustic fan rooms overlooking the river. Air conditioning and hot water rooms are also available. The resort has a quaint wooden riverside restaurant serving Thai favorites at reasonable prices.

Baan Krachang Floating Bungalows

Low budget 450 Baht and up (US$15, €9, £7)

Baan Krachang is an idyllic hideaway, floating bamboo thatched bungalows located in the lush mangroves with stunning views over the Andaman Sea. Secluded, private, and peaceful, each fully-equipped Baan Krachang room comes complete with its own hammock and cushioned chill-out area.

Ban Krachang in Pak Triam Village

Located in the untouched region of the Andaman, Baan Krachang, offers the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. You can do as much or as little as you like with no interruptions. Laze the day away day or join local villagers as they go about their daily lives, the choice is yours.

Meals are a culinary delight of traditional Thai favorites, enough to rival any five-star restaurant cooked by the experts themselves, the villagers. You can even learn how to cook Thai food yourself if you can drag yourself away from your book.

Baan Krachang is run by a community-led cooperative of Pak Triam village, a village that was completely destroyed by the 2004 tsunami. With the kind and generous support of L'Oreal, who donated the necessary funds to build Baan Krachang, the villagers have started to rebuild their lives using the eco-friendly resort to supplement their traditional income of fishing and rubber tapping.

Banana Bay Huts

Banana Bay Hut
