For those of you with more time, you might want to consider our long term volunteer placement. All we ask is a minimum of one month. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our staff and taken through your program, then have the opportunity to ask plenty of questions, which we are happy to answer. After a comprehensive briefing, you will be driven to Ban Tale Nok for five days of cultural and language immersion while volunteering on several of the community’s initiatives. Please see the five day volunteer program for details of the types of activities you will be assisting on. We will provide all the support materials, including our Thai Phrasebook to ensure that you make the most of your time in village. Cha and Pink, our village staff will be with you to make sure you’re keep busy and well fed!
After five days in village, you will return to Kuraburi town and start as an English language assistant in the local high school, teaching 13-17 year olds conservational English. A time table will be provided. Free periods can be used for lesson planning. Please refer to Introduction to Rural English Curriculum for some great activities and games.
Alternatively, Andaman Discoveries is looking for motivated volunteers to join its dynamic office team, based in Kuraburi, Phang Nga, Thailand. We need open-minded and dedicated people to assist in a variety of areas depending on your skills, experience, and interests. We offer a rewarding experience and ask that you stay with us for at least one month. If you want to live in paradise only 20 minutes away from deserted beaches, stunning waterfalls, and lush jungles, then drop us an email because we really need help.
